Today (Tuesday the 24th of January 2012) the strongest Solar Radiation Storm since 7 years takes place. A very fast C.M.E. (Coronal Mass Ejection) is heading towards planet Earth with a speed of 2000 km per second! It continues to get stronger every moment. The solar flare causing this, peaked at the R2 (Moderate) level on January 23 at 0400 GMT (11pm Jan 22 EST).
It might be a good change to see an Aurora Borealis (Northern Light) in the Northern part of Europe, there is also a possibility that GPS systems and other communications will be affected when the solar storm reaches the Earth’s magnetic field tonight…
