The 3 most used Internet browsers are Internet Explorer from Microsoft, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.  Although Internet Explorer and Firefox still are dominating the market, there is a strong declining trend in usage. Google Chrome is gaining more market share during the last months. It looks like Chrome is on a serious mission to rank #1 in the so called “Internet Browser Wars“.

Browser Ranking 2011

  1. Microsoft Internet Explorer - (introduced 1995)
  2. Mozilla Firefox – (introduced 2003)
  3. Google Chrome (introduced 2009)

In general people do not care much what the differences are between the programs, therefore they just use the browser which is available on their devices to access the internet. Google Chrome set a new standard with its new design since its introduction. Now all major browser programs took example and also became more user friendly and functional.

Want to get more (personal customized) functionality with your internet browser?  You can get extensions and plug-ins for your browser(s) at:

DAW: I have used all three popular browsers over time and currently I am using Google Chrome and Firefox. I prefer these browsers for their easy-to-use interface, speed of loading web pages and extension/add-on functionality.

Today (Tuesday the 24th of January 2012) the strongest Solar Radiation Storm since 7 years takes place. A very fast C.M.E. (Coronal Mass Ejection) is heading towards planet Earth with a speed of 2000 km per second! It continues to get stronger every moment. The solar flare causing this, peaked at the R2 (Moderate) level on January 23 at 0400 GMT (11pm Jan 22 EST).

It might be a good change to see an Aurora Borealis (Northern Light) in the Northern part of Europe, there is also a possibility that GPS systems and other communications will be affected when the solar storm reaches the Earth’s magnetic field tonight…
